Hang On adapts Sega's motorcycle arcade cabinet to Master System with coastal circuits and pseudo 3D speed sensation. The 8 bit conversion loses visual effects but keeps the adrenaline and turn legibility. A historical reference of portable arcade racing, founder of the genre.

Collector interest

An American compilation cartridge pairing the racing game Hang On and the light-gun Safari Hunt, the latter using the Light Phaser, packaged to accompany the console in the US. Its desirability rests on that two-in-one launch format and the presence of a light-gun game, tying it to the sought subset of aiming-peripheral titles. Collectors seek it as a witness to the Master System's US start.
