Landing a perfect chain triggers a brief slow-motion and a change of angle, the camera whirling around the hero to frame the decisive thrust like an action-film shot. These cinematic flourishes, scattered through the fighting, turn a plain melee into a succession of small spectacular sequences set to the millimeter.
The music punctuates the player's feats rather than the scenery. Each successful chain triggers a brief reward motif, a hit of brass or a timpani roll that hails the exploit before melting back into the fabric. This punctuation, keyed to combat skill, makes the soundtrack an immediate echo of the gesture, gratifying the ear with each string of enemies felled.
The game answers a spectator's fantasy, to grab the heroes yourself and fight the battles the film only shows. Where the feature imposes its gaze, the story hands the initiative back to the player, placing them at the heart of Middle-earth's clashes, Aragorn's sword in hand. The adventure is worth less for its surprises than for this promise of embodiment kept.

The cinematic staging and the unlocking of film scenes appeal to fans. The repetition and a slightly short content show their limits. A good action game for fans of bladed combat and of Peter Jackson's films.
