Vivendi/Inevitable Entertainment Hobbit adaptation. Bilbo Baggins across Middle-earth, action-adventure for young players, book-faithful atmosphere. Decent execution, accessible gameplay. For young Tolkien fans or curious, gentler than EA's LotR.

Is Hobbit, The - The Prelude to the Lord of the Rings still worth playing in 2026?

An adaptation of Tolkien's novel, The Hobbit follows Bilbo through a light, colourful puzzle platformer that owns its distance from the films' gravity. Stealth, the ring's use and exploration bring likeable variety, despite occasionally stiff handling and a modest production. The good natured charm makes up for part of it. For a fan of Tolkien's world or a lover of old style adventure platforming, the title keeps a measured yet real interest.
