Story
★★★★★
"Captivating"
A city to explore from on high, electric bolts and urban light: the game blends realism with comic touches for an electrifying superhero. The power effects and the coherence of the setting compose a delightful vertical playground. This visual direction, dynamic and polished, energises the superhero sandbox.
Blending nervy orchestra and electric rock, the music embraces Cole's lightning powers with a galvanising urban energy. Each confrontation pulses with an electrifying tension, underlining the hero's moral choices. This sonic identity, dynamic and polished, elevates the supercharged action of the game.

"From the very first seconds"
The sequel expands the arsenal of powers and unfurls a larger city, where you chain electric acrobatics and spectacular fights with increased fluidity. The joy of free traversal and growing power stays intact, elevated by polished production. Snappy, generous and stylish, a superhero open-world that pushes the glee of movement and devastation even further.
Addictiveness
"Obsessive"
Crisscrossing a new city by surfing along the cables and unleashing ever more spectacular powers renews the urge to clear each sector and push one notch further. Shaping your karma and fleshing out your arsenal reward every action. The open structure stays familiar, but the fluidity of movement and the rise in power keep a grip that's hard to set down.

"Massive"
The lush sprawl of New Marais invites gleeful vertical exploration, dotted with energy shards to gather and threats to clear district by district. Karma choices steer your icy or fiery powers and all but demand a second run to see the other ending. The UGC mission editor then stretches the adventure far past the main story.
A sequel to Infamous carrying its electric hero into a New Orleans-inspired city and broadening powers, missions and player content creation. Widely distributed in the West, its appeal stays measured and rests mainly on its status as the accomplished second entry of a Sony exclusive rather than scarcity. An affordable piece for fans of open-world action on PS3.
Is Infamous 2 still worth playing in 2026?
Infamous 2 improves on its elder in almost every respect and remains one of the PS3's best open-world action games. New Marais, a city inspired by New Orleans, is more colourful, more alive and more vertical than Empire City, and Cole's powers, enriched and spectacular, make movement and combat electrifying. The two narrative paths, heroic or infamous, heighten the replayability of the karma system. Player-created missions extended the experience. Bigger, more beautiful and deeper than the first, this title remains fully recommendable today.
