Capcom's 2D fighting game adaptation of the cult JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga. Rich gameplay creatively exploiting Stands, well-represented characters. Capcom's execution is excellent and perfectly captures Araki's exaggerated and flamboyant style. A must-play.

Capcom's adaptation of Araki's manga, this CPS-3 derived 2D versus fighter turned Stands into mechanics rarely seen at the time. On NTSC-U PS1 the lack of a Western Saturn or Dreamcast release funneled demand toward this version, whose strong loose price and very expensive sealed copies reflect both Capcom's limited late-cycle print run and the enduring cult following the licence holds among fighting game collectors.

Is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure still worth playing in 2026?

A Capcom fighting game adapted from Hirohiko Araki's manga, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure pits the saga's heroes against each other with their Stands, those fighting entities of singular gameplay on the CPS-3 system. The gorgeous sprites, the expressive animation and the toggleable Stand mechanic bring real originality to the versus. The PlayStation port shows a few compromises against the arcade. A great brawler to recommend for fans of Araki's work and lovers of inventive 2D versus from Capcom.
