First Atelier released in early PS2 generation, a light JRPG focused on alchemical item creation. The atelier system for synthesising potions and equipment is the game's heart. Less deep than later entries but foundational for the Atelier series on PS2.

A Japanese Gust Atelier released in 2002, the seventh entry in the main series and the third in the Gramnad sub-trilogy. Judie travels back in time to save a threatened town, alchemizing items and weapons following the day-by-day mechanic that defines the Atelier brand. Stayed Japan-exclusive despite its quality.

Is Judie no Atelier - Gramnad no Renkinjutsushi still worth playing in 2026?

An alchemy action RPG from Gust, Judie no Atelier puts the player in the shoes of an apprentice alchemist who gathers ingredients, crafts items through synthesis and completes requests against a time limit. The gentleness of the world, the depth of the crafting system and the relaxed management pace make for an endearing adventure typical of the Atelier series. The language barrier and a measured pace reserve access for enthusiasts. A gem for fans of crafting RPGs and warm Japanese productions.
