The brick-breaking principle is turned into a show: the bricks take the shape of creatures from the series, the paddles sit on all four sides of the frame, and the hero himself serves as the ball, which forces him to change expression according to speed. Each board adopts a block layout that draws a recognisable shape before it is even broken into.
The themes take up the series' repertoire but rearranged at a brisker tempo, suited to a game in which the ball never stops. The bounce sound effects are tuned to the pieces rather than left to chance, so a long game produces an involuntary but in-tune percussion, and the end of each board takes up the character's familiar fanfare.
