Description
Japanese compilation of the first two Langrisser, large-scale Japanese tactical RPGs. Created by Career Soft and NCS, released in 1997 in Japan with Shokai Gentei Special Package limited edition under the Langrisser I & II title. Grid-based tactical combat with unit recruitment, two complete remastered scenarios, multiple narrative branches and orchestral soundtrack. Japanese edition with limited edition.
A Japanese compilation gathering the first two Langrisser games, tactical RPGs noted for their branching storylines and polished character design. The Special Package variant, a limited first-print edition, adds a sought dimension for the Japanese-SRPG collector. Never localized, this Japanese release supports a high value driven by scarcity and the series' standing.
Is Langrisser I & II still worth playing in 2026?
Langrisser I & II is the PS1 compilation of the first two Langrissers, classic NCS/Masaya tactical RPGs. Epic scenarios, strategic grid combat with remarkable depth and an extensive class system make a saga overlooked in the West facing Fire Emblem but respected by purists. Satoshi Urushihara's anime art direction is striking, Iwadare's score catchy. A genuinely interesting detour today.
