Is Last Hope still worth playing in 2026?

A horizontal shooter from NG:DEV.TEAM, Last Hope claims kinship with R-Type and Border Down, down to its biomechanical mood and orbital options. The original version drew criticism for cluttered backdrops that made obstacles hard to read, a flaw largely fixed in the Pink Bullets revision. The action stays demanding, at times punishing, and the playtime short. For fans of tough shmups and collectors of independent runs on the console, it keeps an assertive retro character, provided one accepts its harshness.
