The third Mickey Mouse Illusion game, originally a Game Gear title. Beautiful visuals for the hardware, solid platforming. Slightly below the first two but still a very pleasant experience.

Collector interest

The third Brazilian entry in the Castle of Illusion series with Mickey Mouse, a TecToy exclusive never distributed outside Brazil. Its desirability is strong: these polished Disney platformers are highly liked, and the strictly Brazilian, late release on a market Sega kept going makes this edition particularly hard to obtain elsewhere. Collectors seek it as one of the most coveted pieces of the TecToy output.

Better with friends

A colorful platforming adventure where the mascot chains jumps and puzzles through enchanting scenery. Lacking simultaneous play on the console, it lends itself to a relay among loved ones: you alternate at tough spots, give advice and share the wonder of discoveries. Tender and readable, it suits the whole family and makes group sessions a complicit moment you enjoy picking up stage after stage.

Is Legend of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse still worth playing in 2026?

The third entry in Mickey's Master System adventures, Legend of Illusion extends the Castle of Illusion series with a careful action platformer where the mouse explores a world of tales to break a curse. The warm art direction, the expressive animation and the smooth level design make it one of the console's finest late games, especially on the Brazilian side. The accessible challenge aims at a broad audience. For a retro platforming fan, a Disney fan or someone curious about Sega's 8 bit peaks, the title keeps an intact visual charm.
