The game shows large sprites animated across many frames, which makes running, dodging and sword blows particularly fluid. The beach, ruin and palace scenery takes warm, luminous tints, and the summoned spirits visually transform the screen when they come into action.
Yuzo Koshiro composes a sunlit, rhythmic score, far removed from his urban work: ethnic percussion, synthetic flutes, motifs turning on bright scales. The dungeon themes darken the tone without breaking the momentum, and the passages tied to the spirits change timbre with each element.

The dedicated French edition of La Legende de Thor is the PAL regional variant with full localization, including packaging and manual. Its collector value comes from this regional specificity and from the fact that localized Megadrive pressings remained rare for the Climax action-RPG segment.
Is Legende de Thor, La still worth playing in 2026?
An action RPG by Ancient and Sega, Beyond Oasis offers a mythological adventure in an oriental world with a fluid combat system and elemental spirits to summon. The sumptuous art direction, Yuzo Koshiro's soundtrack and the depth of the gameplay make this title an absolutely unmissable reference of action RPG on Mega Drive. For anyone fond of quality Zelda likes or wanting to discover one of the forgotten peaks of the Sega catalogue, an absolutely essential recommendation today still without any hesitation here indeed truly.
