Tolkien trilogy revisited in bricks with voice acting lifted from Peter Jackson's films. Open-world Middle-earth, nine-strong Fellowship, very differentiated specific abilities. Vast hub to roam freely, occasionally trickier puzzles, epic atmosphere. Careful adaptation though Wii suffers visually. Good family take on the Tolkien epic, recommended.

A LEGO adaptation of Peter Jackson's trilogy from Traveller's Tales, LEGO The Lord of the Rings recreates Middle-earth in bricks with an open world to roam, dialogue lifted from the films and an item equipping system. The scope of the adventure, the silent humour and the two player co-op breathe a real epic into the house formula. Repetition and the camera stay the genre's limits. An excellent LEGO game for Lord of the Rings fans, families and lovers of co-op adventure.
