The Lion King adapts the Disney animated film on Virgin/Westwood NES with Simba growing in the African savannah to reclaim his kingdom usurped by Scar. The representation chains platform and combat with roar and animal acrobatics in a polished Disney license formula. Honest for NES Disney platform fans, curiosity of the 8 bit Virgin catalog.

The Lion King on NES is a very late port from Virgin Interactive, released in 1994 in Europe when the NES was largely abandoned for the Super Nintendo. This 8-bit PAL version of the Disney game is a striking late-release case, produced in low volume at the very tail of the console's life. Its value reflects that twilight scarcity more than the version itself, technically modest against the 16-bit editions. Demand sustained by its final-port status.
