Adeline Software dresses Twinsun in pastel colours and rounded shapes: mushroom houses, pale dunes, floating islands and the menacing angles of FunFrock's police machinery. The species that populate the planet, Quetch, Grobo and Rabbibunny, are drawn like toys, which makes the dictatorship watching over them all the more chilling.
Twinsen is locked in an asylum because he dreams of a goddess the regime wants forgotten. His escape opens a story of resistance where the prophecy provides the thread, but the real subject is a police state that watches, lies and erases. Adeline slips a very clear political statement into an adventure that looks made for children.
Is Little Big Adventure still worth playing in 2026?
An Adeline action adventure from Frederick Raynal, Little Big Adventure plunges hero Twinsen into a colourful isometric world of unique charm, blending exploration, puzzles, combat and platforming via a system of behaviours to switch by situation. The endearing art direction, the gentle science fiction mood and the freedom of the world stay memorable. The dated handling and sometimes awkward controls have aged. A classic of European adventure for fans of singular worlds and auteur design.
