EA tactical RPG set in The Lord of the Rings, German release of Third Age. Six-character turn-based combat, cinematics lifted from the films and a very Hollywood epic vibe. Not Final Fantasy levels of finesse but a love letter to fans of the films.

Is Lord of the Rings - Nakatsu Kuni Daisanki still worth playing in 2026?

A turn based RPG clearly inspired by Final Fantasy X, The Third Age dives into the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, following original heroes whose path crosses the Fellowship's. The strategic battles and the characters' power growth appeal, even if the game stays very signposted and derivative. The fidelity to the films' look charms fans. For a lover of accessible RPG or a devotee of Tolkien's world, the title keeps an honest interest today.
