Mario five-on-five arcade football, brutal and unleashed. Powerful Mega Strikes that fill the screen when charged with the stick, special abilities per captain, hostile arenas with electric obstacles. Punchy visuals, metal vibe, tense gameplay where defense is vital. Explosive local multi, online was excellent in its time. Probably the best Mario football game, more arcade than sim, more rock than cute.

Collector interest

The Korean edition of Mario's football outing on Wii, distributed on the console's small local base. Its collector interest lies in this uncommon regional version rather than in the game itself, available in Japanese and Western releases. A target for collectors specialised in the Korean Wii releases of Nintendo licenses, where each localised reference is hard to find today.

Is Mario Power Soccer still worth playing in 2026?

An arcade football game from Next Level Games, Mario Power Soccer, known elsewhere as Mario Strikers Charged, transposes the Mario world onto the pitch in snappy five on five matches where devastating special moves, muscular tackles and power-ups pulverise the rules of the sport. The unbridled snappiness, the humour and the use of gestural controls appeal to fans of uninhibited arcade. The depth stays limited and the repetitiveness lurks over time. For a fan of arcade football or of the Mario world, the title keeps a preserved intensity and fun.
