Wii port of Mario Power Tennis GameCube with added Wiimote gestural controls. Around twenty characters with differentiated styles, flashy special shots, Mario-themed courts. Solid tournament mode, local four-player multi, zany mini-games. Motion controls don't replace original stick comfort, but overall remains an excellent arcade tennis title for parties or quick fun sessions.

Is Mario Tennis GC still worth playing in 2026?

An arcade tennis game from Camelot, Mario Power Tennis, here in its reworked version for gestural controls, transposes the Mario world onto the courts in snappy rallies punctuated by spectacular special shots proper to each character. The immediate accessibility, the fancy of the techniques and the festive spirit appeal to a wide family audience. The sometimes imperfect precision of motion control and a limited depth bound the ambition. For a fan of arcade tennis or of the Mario world, the title keeps a preserved accessibility and fun, in a colourful production.
