Mario five-on-five arcade football, brutal and unleashed. Powerful Mega Strikes that fill the screen when charged with the stick, special abilities per captain, hostile arenas with electric obstacles. Punchy visuals, metal vibe, tense gameplay where defense is vital. Explosive local multi, online was excellent in its time. Probably the best Mario football game, more arcade than sim, more rock than cute.

Story
★★★★★
"Anecdotal"
The visual identity here belongs to the stadiums, not the players. Each ground is a hostile construction in its own right: electrified fences that glow red on contact, a desert slab battered by a sandstorm, a platform hung over the void, an icy arena with blue reflections. The camera stays low and wide so the pitch, hazards included, reads as one more opponent.
The audio is written like a broadcast. A held murmur from the stands, a dry whistle, shouts that swell when the ball changes ends, then a loop that accelerates while a special shot charges and cuts out dead a fraction of a second before impact. That tiny gap does more for the tension of a match than any chorus could.

"From the very first seconds"
Football with no referee and no mercy: electric tackles, blazing super-shots and a fence that hurls opponents into the scenery. Everything is fast, everything hits, and the slightest play can swing the score. The twitchy handling and unashamed aggression make it a perfect group blow-off, heightened further by online play. Brutal, funny and fiercely addictive, a peak of arcade sport.

The European edition of Next Level Games' arcade football, released as Mario Strikers Charged Football, specific to the PAL market. This same supercharged mascot soccer charms with its brutal matches and brisk tone, its interest lying in this local naming rather than strong scarcity. A piece valued by fans of convivial Wii arcade sport.
Better with friends
The European edition of the most unhinged arcade soccer, where super-shots and devastating tackles make every four-player match a joyful free-for-all. The competition blends technique with pure chaos: tacit alliances, vengeance and goals out of nowhere chain along in fits of laughter. Spectacular and accessible, it favors shared mayhem and guarantees explosive evenings you restart tirelessly.
Is Mario Strikers Charged Football still worth playing in 2026?
Mario Strikers Charged is a turbo-charged arcade football game that transposes Mario's universe into a brutal, unbridled and delightfully irreverent sport. Far from any simulation, the title bets on chaos, violent tackles, devastating powers and spectacular super-shots, in brisk matches where anything goes. The accessible handling and the frantic pace make it a treat in multiplayer, where the spirit of unabashed competition prevails. While its pioneering online side has closed, local versus keeps all its festive intensity. For anyone who loves zany arcade sports among friends, this title remains a jubilant outlet.
