Original Japanese pressing of Marvel Super Heroes on Saturn, released by Capcom in 1997, a Marvel Universe arcade conversion that heralds the Marvel vs Capcom line and uses the 4 MB RAM expansion cartridge for animation fidelity. The original and most accessible version of the title, issued on the Saturn's flagship market where the Capcom plus RAM cart combo was plentiful. The complete Japanese copy with obi and expansion cart remains the reasonable route for Capcom Fighters completists.

Better with friends

A spectacular 2D fighter where collecting gems grants super-powers that flip the balance mid-action. The competition blends aggression and tempo, each gem grabbed opening a heady offensive window against the opponent. Colorful and snappy, it pleases comic fans and versus lovers alike, and its sudden reversals trigger lively reactions.

Is Marvel Super Heroes still worth playing in 2026?

A 2D versus by Capcom, Marvel Super Heroes offers fights between Marvel heroes and villains with an Infinity Gems system offering temporary powers. The vibrant cartoon art direction faithful to comics, polished animation and versus mode make it a good Marvel adaptation on Saturn. The RAM cartridge improves performance. For anyone fond of Marvel or Capcom 2D versus games, a warm recommendation still valid today without any hesitation on the Sega machine for comic versus genre fans truly here indeed for any returning newcomer.
