A wonderfully unhinged platform and shoot mix from BioWare. Levels swap genres, humor is twisted and the action never lets up. An original cult classic.

Collector interest

MDK2 PAL is the Dreamcast port of the second entry of BioWare's franchise, distributed by Interplay. Collector value comes from the game's singularity (BioWare's first 3D work before console Baldur's Gate), from the recognised port quality and from a relatively modest Interplay PAL print at the end of the console's commercial life.

Is MDK2 still worth playing in 2026?

BioWare's delirious sequel to Shiny's original, MDK2 alternates between sniper Kurt, the tinkering scientist Hawkins and Max the heavily armed dog. This three character structure constantly reshapes the situations and the tone never takes itself seriously. A few sequences show their age in design terms, yet the inventiveness, the absurd humour and the singular art direction make it an action platformer that still feels remarkably unique in the modern landscape, especially for genre fans.
