A little-known Japanese action-RPG from Tecmo, Melfand Stories never left Japan and exists only on Super Famicom. Its very obscurity makes it a niche object for import diggers: somewhat clumsy real-time combat, but a fantasy mood and anime artwork that win over lovers of off-the-beaten-path 16-bit curiosities. The SFC cardboard box and spine card of a lightly printed title give the clean complete a genuine cult value, with the unopened copy especially hard to track down.
