Collector interest

The Japanese HD Edition of Peace Walker, a console remaster of Kojima's portable episode set at the dawn of the saga's key events. Its appeal lies in this status as a standalone Japanese version of a hinge entry of the Metal Gear narrative, sought by fans documenting every local Kojima release. An import piece for collectors of the saga in its language.

Is Metal Gear Solid - Peace Walker - HD Edition still worth playing in 2026?

Peace Walker HD Edition finally offers Hideo Kojima's portable masterpiece on the big screen, long confined to the PSP. Big Boss in Costa Rica, the building and management of Mother Base, co-op for up to four players and a dense narrative on nuclear deterrence make for a surprisingly ambitious MGS for a handheld production. The HD remaster and the controls adapted to the pad finally make the experience fully comfortable. Its structure of cut-up missions contrasts with the console entries. But for the Kojima fan or the infiltration lover, this essential and too-overlooked chapter amply deserves the visit.
