A decent platformer Power Rangers adaptation, faithful to the show. No genius, but charming for kids and 90s TV nostalgists.

The original Super Famicom version of Power Rangers by Bandai, the Japanese release of the side-scrolling beat-'em-up that carried the license into 16-bit. The SFC cardboard box and spine card define the complete example here, often a cult import for Western tokusatsu and Bandai fans. Its Japanese provenance gives this first edition its cachet, set apart from the US pressing by packaging and its role as the origin source; desirability driven by Sentai nostalgia and the appeal of clean Super Famicom copies.

Is Mighty Morphin Power Rangers still worth playing in 2026?

An adaptation of the hit TV series, this side-scrolling action game strings together fights against Rita's minions before giant robot showdowns. The fidelity to the licence and the joy of playing the Rangers strike home with fans, but the gameplay stays repetitive and shallow. Players return mainly out of nostalgia for the 90s phenomenon rather than for ludic merit. A madeleine for Power Rangers admirers, no more.
