Three ships fit on screen at once without confusion, each in a bold colour, with their articulated arms hanging beneath the hull. The scenery alternates vertical and side scrolling, and the imagery stays that of the series, smiling clouds, flying vegetables, toy-like machines in a pastel palette.
The themes keep the series' characteristic cheerfulness, singing melodies in a major key and bright timbres, but the writing thickens to accompany three simultaneous players. The boss pieces briefly harden the tone, and the motif for recovering a fallen ally returns as a signal recognisable above all others.
