Mortal Kombat Armageddon brings together the entire historical roster in one game, over sixty characters. Create-your-own fatalities, Konquest adventure mode, Motor Kombat kart-style mini-game. 3D combat in the Deadly Alliance vein, Wii presentation inferior to HD versions. Massive content quantity, variable per-character quality but maximum nostalgia. Ultimate pre-reboot fan service.

A questionable morality

Ending a fight by ripping out your opponent's spine to the cheers of a cavernous voice sums up the series' signature. The fatalities, secret moves celebrating the goriest possible kill, are presented as the ultimate reward, and you apply yourself to pulling them off flawlessly, savouring this refinement of cruelty with amused detachment.

Is Mortal Kombat - Armageddon still worth playing in 2026?

A fighting game from Midway, Mortal Kombat Armageddon gathers the series' largest roster, over sixty characters, in bloody duels paired with an adventurous Konquest mode and a fighter editor. The generosity of the cast, the customisable Fatalities and the offbeat kart racing mode appeal to fans. The universal combat system lacks bite and the Wii version adds motion handling. An abundant fighting game for Mortal Kombat fans and lovers of generous brawling.
