Mortal Kombat in 3D on PS2 with a new combat system and expanded roster. Spectacular fatalities are present and the Krypt unlockable extras system is generous. Less deep than the best 2D fighting games but entertaining for franchise fans.

Description
A Midway 3D fighter released in 2002 (Germany, Europe, Australia, US), the first Mortal Kombat on PS2. A total franchise overhaul after MK4 and MK Gold: a fighting-styles system (each character has three), new fatalities and a huge roster. A critical and commercial rebirth of the series.

Is Mortal Kombat - Deadly Alliance still worth playing in 2026?

A versus fighter from Midway, Mortal Kombat - Deadly Alliance relaunches the cult saga with a move to the third dimension, where fighters have several interchangeable combat styles, blending martial arts and weapons, all punctuated by the series' emblematic bloody fatalities. The multiple style system, the generosity of the roster and the assumed violence appeal to versus fans and fans of the licence. The stiffness of some clashes and a dated production bound the ambition. For a fan of fighting games or of Mortal Kombat, the title keeps a preserved intensity and fidelity, in a dated edition.
