Collector interest

A cartoonish kart racer by Polyphony Digital, a lab for the team that would birth Gran Turismo, where the early care for driving feel hides in a slapstick wrapper. Its European version stays common, the Japanese one a bit less, and its interest lies in this genealogical link to a future giant rather than scarcity. A tasty curiosity for anyone wanting the studio's origins.

Better with friends

A whimsical cartoon kart racer where zany items and deranged tracks turn every two-player race into an unpredictable battle. The competition blends skill and twists of fate, in a joyful rivalry where the last-placed can flip it all with a well-timed power-up. Colorful and accessible, it favors fun and humor, and its absurd reversals trigger laughter and instant rematch cravings.

Is Motor Toon Grand Prix 2 still worth playing in 2026?

Motor Toon Grand Prix 2 improves on its predecessor with more characters, circuits and refined gameplay. Polyphony Digital already shows technical expertise before Gran Turismo, with cartoony but careful driving physics and colourful fully 3D arcade racing. Mostly Japan-only, the title is a historical curiosity of the studio. A genuinely interesting detour today.
