Off-beat and creative Sega musical platformer, with a guitarist skeleton as hero. Varied gameplay between action levels and surprising musical sequences. Sometimes frustrating but originality more than compensates. An endearing Saturn oddity.

Description
Atypical platform game in which a guitar-playing skeleton battles an undead army to defend music. Published by Sega, released in Europe in 1997. Levels with varied gameplay alternating platforming, puzzles, musical mini-games and shooting sequences, expressive Mr. Bones character and a rock soundtrack featuring contributions from Steve Vai. An original and offbeat Saturn exclusive.
Mr. Bones is a Sega Saturn exclusive built on a singular idea, a guitar-playing skeleton defending music, never reissued or ported elsewhere. The PAL European version had a very small run against the limited Western Saturn base, which explains loose and CIB prices among the highest on the console. The rock soundtrack featuring Steve Vai and the disorienting mix of platforming, puzzles and musical mini-games make it sought by fans of oddball titles and PAL completists.
