EA Sports baseball simulation based on the 2005 MLB season. Game mechanics are solid and licensed stadiums well reproduced. A good American baseball title on PS2 before The Show series definitively took over the market.

Description
An EA Sports baseball game released in 2005 (US, Japan, Asia, Korea), the last edition of the MVP Baseball franchise before EA lost the MLB license. An expanded career mode, polished presentation and fluid batting. Retrospectively considered the peak of EA's baseball sim, and a lost PS2 classic.

Is MVP Baseball 2005 still worth playing in 2026?

A peak of Electronic Arts' baseball, MVP Baseball 2005 has stayed cult as the last entry of the MLB licensed series, praised for its balance between accessibility and depth. The batting system, the detailed dynasty mode and the polished presentation make it a still prized reference, backed by an active modding community on the PC versions. The production shows its age on PS2 and the baseball barrier limits the audience outside America. An excellent simulation to recommend for fans of retro baseball.
