Is Naruto - Gekitou Ninja Taisen! 2 still worth playing in 2026?

This second Gekitou Ninja Taisen, developed by Eighting, remains one of the best entry points into GameCube's long line of Naruto fighters. The snappy 2D-on-3D system, manga-faithful signature techniques and colourful arenas hit home for fans of the series. Today the fun lies mostly in the lively, accessible local versus mode, even if the roster and depth have long been surpassed by later entries. A safe bet for fans of anime fighting games, though it remained a Japan-only release throughout its life.
