Ninja Storm 3 goes further with the ninja war as a backdrop and large-scale battles that stay particularly striking. Naruto and Sasuke have never been more expressive, the anime score delights, and the combat remains one of the sub-saga's most gleeful.

The scale changes and the score follows: low choirs and war brass for the tailed-beast confrontations, percussion hammering continuously through the chases, and brief flute lulls when the story returns to the characters' childhoods. The music works here like that of a battle film, with its troop movements and its breathing spaces.
The episode opens the Fourth Ninja War and takes seriously what an army implies: command councils, mixed units of once-hostile villages, dead men brought back to fight under duress.
