"Anecdotal"
The attention turns to the players' gear. Shoes modeled model by model, arm sleeves, headbands, knee and ankle braces adjust piece by piece, and sneaker culture invites itself right into the sheen of the leather and the colored soles. The art direction treats the modern athlete's kit as a subject in itself, each player wearing a recognizable wardrobe down to his accessories.
Far from the din of the court, the soundtrack tends the hushed atmosphere of the gym. The career mode's training sessions unfold in a nearly empty room, where you hear only the steady bounce of the ball, the rustle of the net, the echo of steps on a waxed floor and instructions called from afar. This working silence, the opposite of the match's revelry, gives the game's sound an intimacy rare in the genre.
The 2015 entry of Visual Concepts' basketball, extending the series on an end-of-life PS3 while most of the effort moved to the next generation. Its collector interest is very low: a dated, abundant annual game, with no notable quirk on this late PS3 version. A nostalgia piece for those who followed this precise season of virtual basketball.
Better with friends
Basketball of remarkable fluidity, cut out for four-player evenings where you swing the ball around and chase the buzzer-beating bucket. The competition lives on tempo, spectacular blocks and trash talk after a well-earned dunk, in a rivalry as technical as it is convivial. Easy to fire up for a quick game, it turns every matchup into a pride duel and a memory machine.
Is NBA 2K15 still worth playing in 2026?
NBA 2K15 continues the series' excellence, with Kevin Durant on the cover and an enriched career mode that digs into the narrative dimension of a player's journey. The gameplay keeps the rightness and fluidity that made 2K the basketball benchmark on console, and the presentation stays of exemplary TV polish. On PS3, however, the machine begins to show its limits against the more accomplished next-generation versions. Like any annual entry, its online side has gone dark and its roster is frozen. But in solo, for the basketball fan attached to that season, the title remains a solid and enjoyable simulation.
