Is NBA 2K3 still worth playing in 2026?

At launch this 2K3 stood for the simulation side of basketball against EA's arcade leanings, with a licensed roster and an already sturdy franchise mode. The trouble is the series has since stacked up far more polished yearly entries, leaving this version largely obsolete: dated presentation, stiff animations, defunct online. Its appeal today is mostly historical, a marker of how far 2K has come. Modern hoops fans will get little out of it.
