NBA Live 2000 on N64, a tidy entry held back by the platform. An advanced Create-a-Player, franchise mode and serious ball physics make for an honest sim hoops package. The PS1 version is better served, but on N64 it's one of the better options in the genre.

Is NBA Live 2000 still worth playing in 2026?

The 1999-2000 entry in EA Sports' basketball simulation, NBA Live 2000 offers realistic NBA basketball with official teams and players, a one on one mode featuring legends, and more measured playability than arcade games. The tactical fidelity, the wealth of modes and the careful presentation appeal to fans of the sport, even if the tech and artificial intelligence have aged. For someone nostalgic for 64 bit basketball, a fan of NBA simulation or a curious player, the title keeps a recreational interest and still substantial content.
