American Midway edition from December 1999 of the N64 adaptation of NBA Showtime arcade, under NBC Sports license. The US cartridge enjoys official NBC coverage with the period logos and TV graphics, never transposed to other portable formats. It is the only version including the full NBC opening sequence, an audiovisual document now a notable archive for late-1990s televised basketball enthusiasts.

Released in 1999 on Nintendo 64, Midway's project applies to basketball the supercharged recipe of the NBA Jam series, in a two on two of jubilant excess. The gravity defying dunks, the balls set ablaze after a scoring streak and the total absence of fouls make for a pure arcade spectacle, a world away from simulation. The frantic pace, the immediate handling and the spirited commentary under the NBC television skin make it an excellent couch game. The superficiality and the thin content show. A delightful thrill ride, recommended for fans of arcade basketball and of matches with friends.
