Its through-line is an antagonist, the Hakkesshu clan and the Orochi entity, whose gradual awakening darkens each edition. The bosses grow more outsized, the ending stagings turn ominous, and the mythological threat rising from one game to the next gives this triptych a gravity new to the series.
An anthology of the early King of Fighters, the compilation gathers energetic themes blending rock, funk and jazz, the sonic signature of the SNK studio.
