NFL Blitz embraces its over-the-top arcade football, miles from simulation, and that's both its charm and its limit. On a multiplayer night, its exaggerated tackles and frantic pace still land, but the thin content and dated AI grow tiresome fast in solo play. The modest period score reflects a title built for instant fun rather than depth. For someone nostalgic about the 90s arcade formula, the fun survives, otherwise it has aged noticeably and offers little for newcomers today.
