American football from Sega, NFL Football '94 puts legend Joe Montana front and centre and offers an approach between simulation and accessibility, with a tactical view and a hefty playbook. The game plays with a certain immediate pleasure, but the stiff animations, uneven artificial intelligence and dated presentation betray its age. EA Sports' competition was already more convincing on the field.
