Collector interest

The Japanese version of Nightmare Creatures, a horror-action game from Kalisto set in a haunted Victorian London. More widely distributed in the West, the title sees its Japanese release grow scarce, which interests collectors of Western games cross-released in Japan. Its appeal lies in this local pressing of a title prized for its gothic atmosphere more than for any general scarcity.

Is Nightmare Creatures still worth playing in 2026?

A horror action game from Kalisto, Nightmare Creatures plunges the player into a Victorian London overrun by monsters spawned by an occult sect, across snappy levels mixing melee combat and shooting. The heavy gothic atmosphere, the violence of the clashes and an adrenaline gauge to keep up install real tension. The stiff handling, the fickle camera and angular 3D have aged. A dark action title for fans of 32 bit horror and brawling in a Victorian atmosphere.
