The Ninja Warriors adapts the Taito hit to Mega CD with its trio of cyborg ninjas facing oppressive forces. The version uses the CD format for Zuntata orchestral soundtrack and anime cinematics, faithful to the arcade. Excellent for 16 bit beat em up fans, Taito classic.

Collector interest

The Mega CD version of Taito's brawler, The Ninja Warriors never left Japan, making it a territorial exclusive sought by Western Taito collectors. Its core draw is the reorchestrated Zuntata soundtrack that the CD format finally unleashes, extending the cult of the original arcade theme. The Japanese plastic case with its obi strip, combined with the niche fighting-action status, keeps demand running well ahead of genuine availability on the secondhand market.

Is Ninja Warriors, The still worth playing in 2026?

A Mega-CD port of Taito's beat-em-up, The Ninja Warriors advances robotic ninjas through a dystopian Japan, dealing blows and techniques to hordes of enemies in snappy side-scrolling. The pace, the cyberpunk mood and the catchy soundtrack stay the salt of the experience, supported by the CD format's audio. Repetition sets in and the presentation has aged. A curiosity for fans of retro beat-em-ups and nostalgics of Taito arcade.
