First 3D Oddworld exclusive on Xbox, featuring Abe and Munch as a duo. Cooperative gameplay alternating between the two characters with distinct abilities. Less good than the original 2D Oddysees but introduces the duo well. Xbox launch exclusive with strong ambitions.

Description
Abe the Mudokon and Munch the Gabbit, the last representatives of their endangered species, team up to save the Gabbit eggs captured by the Vykkers Corporation. Published by Microsoft Game Studios, released in 2001 in the United States and in 2002 in Europe. A 3D Xbox launch title with telepathic powers, a possession system, platforming and puzzle sections, an engaged narrative, and the absurd humor characteristic of Oddworld.

Is Oddworld - Munch's Oddysee still worth playing in 2026?

The third entry in the Oddworld Inhabitants saga, Munch's Oddysee moves the series into 3D, alternating the Mudokon Abe and the creature Munch in a blend of platforming, puzzles and managing little kin to rescue. The satirical world, the dark humour and the singular art direction stay the series' great strengths. The 3D has aged and some puzzles lack finesse. An original adventure game for fans of offbeat worlds and Oddworld followers curious about its move into the third dimension.
