Il Padrino drops the player into Coppola's New York underworld with real generosity. Plenty of freedom, a strong cast and combat that bites sometimes. A great time, long and rich.

Description
Italian edition of EA Redwood Shores and EA released in 2006, distributed as "Il Padrino." Same mafia open world mechanics and same progression through the Corleone family as the French, German and Spanish versions, in a full Italian localization where the operatic voice work and Sicilian slang gain authenticity.

Is Padrino, Il still worth playing in 2026?

An open world action game from Electronic Arts adapted from Coppola's film, The Godfather plunges the player into 1940s New York where they climb the mafia ranks, between shootouts, business extortion and neighbourhood takeovers. The fidelity to the film's mood, the original character voices and the freedom of approach are winning. The stiff driving and gunplay, along with a dated PS2 production, have aged. A criminal open world to recommend for fans of the Godfather and open world mafia ascent.
