Konami's parody shooter spinning off Gradius. Octopuses, penguins, armored dogs, the capsule power-ups intact but absurdly dressed up. Wacky levels, offbeat humor. Shorter than a classic Gradius, but the festive tone makes up for it. A good portable shooter, especially for Konami humor fans.

Is Parodius Da! still worth playing in 2026?

Parodius is Konami's parody shoot'em up that twists the Gradius universe with octopuses, penguins and absurd levels. On Game Boy, the zany spirit and visual humor survive the conversion surprisingly well, even if the small screen and monochrome shave a little off the readability of the busy scenery. The snappy power-up-based gameplay stays faithful to the series. For fans of retro shmups and Konami's offbeat humor, it is a tasty portable curiosity.
