PES 2011 finally offers manual passing via the right stick and a deeper on-pitch tactical system. The result is convincing, but FIFA leads the race by a wide margin and Konami still struggles to catch up on the licensing front.

You don't put the pad down because of the long-term projects: building a team from scratch in the Master League takes whole seasons, and the finesse of passing only yields to persistence. Between an individual career, back-to-back competitions and online matches where every opponent sets a new tempo, the content renews itself enough to fill months.
