Sid Meier's pirate simulator on NES. Trade, naval combat, duels, seduction. Extraordinarily ambitious for the console. Narrative freedom and open-world gameplay ahead of its time. A classic.

Description
Maritime piracy simulation in which the player becomes a pirate captain fighting and trading on the seas. Published by Konami, released in Europe in 1991. Pirate fleet management, naval battles and trading in Caribbean ports. NES port of Microprose's Pirates! simulation game.
The NES port of MicroProse's Pirates! reached Europe under the Ultra label, the front Konami used for Western releases to sidestep its own output quotas. The European PAL version, distributed late and in modest volumes, remains the hardest of the simulator's three editions to assemble complete. Its appeal rests on that Ultra branding and a pan-European rollout fragmented country by country.
