Pop'n Music 8 refines the formula without rocking the boat. Wider track selection and the same exhilarating chart reading. A very solid entry for evening sessions.

Motley and joyful, the selection draws on J-pop, anime and a thousand genres to have you tap coloured buttons in time. Each track has its own tempo and personality, rewarding precision with a sparkling energy. This musical melting pot, a pillar of Konami's rhythm games, remains irresistibly rousing.

Is Pop'n Music 8 still worth playing in 2026?

An entry in Konami's rhythm series, Pop'n Music 8 carries over the colourful principle of nine big buttons to press in time with tracks from a vast palette of musical genres, in a sparkling Japanese pop mood. The readability, the variety of the tracklist and the satisfaction of the combo stay intact, ideally with the dedicated controller. The reliance on the peripheral, the dated content and the Japan exclusivity limit access. A festive rhythm game to recommend for fans of musical scoring and Japanese arcade pop.
