The eye is drawn here to the ground planes rather than the ships: ochre canyons, stretches of water, runways where tiny vehicles move about with no direct bearing on the fight, which lends depth to the world being flown over. The enemy sprites, cut into angular shapes, stand clear of those textured grounds without ever blending into them.
The pieces deliberately leave gaps where only firing and explosion sounds remain, which gives the melodic returns real momentum. Between stages, short fanfares of a few bars act as breathing space, and the score avoids continuous pads to preserve the clarity of a three-voice mix.
Complete: box, manual and disc/cart very clean. Lightly handled.
