Primal Rage adapts the prehistoric monster fighter to Game Gear. The seven creatures keep their iconic poses and specials, but the 8 bit animation sacrifices much of the arcade charm. More of a curiosity for fans than a serious fighter to recommend on the console.

Collector interest

Primal Rage, the Game Gear port of Time Warner Interactive's fighting game in which dinosaurs and giant primates clash, released in North America. An adaptation of an arcade hit with a singular prehistoric bestiary, it charms through its concept more than its technique on the handheld. Its collecting interest lies in the casting's originality and demand from fans of atypical 1990s fighting games.
