Prince of Persia Sands of Time on GBA, adaptation of the 3D hit in 2D view. Time-rewind mechanics well adapted. Less spectacular but honest, good for fans of the original game.

Description
Platform game developed by Ubisoft and published in Europe in November 2003, GBA adaptation of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The Prince explores the palace by reversing time with the Sands of Time after accidentally releasing demons. Acrobatics and sword combat inspired by the console game, environmental puzzles and the ability to rewind time. Faithful 2D adaptation of the Persian atmosphere from the original game.

Is Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time still worth playing in 2026?

A GBA adaptation of The Sands of Time, this Prince of Persia drops the console version's 3D for a 2D platforming reworking, where the hero chains jumps, climbs, fights and time powers. The time rewind and the acrobatics, the series' hallmarks, are carried over with some intelligence, even if precision and readability sometimes suffer on the small screen. The adventure stays decent and faithful to the model's spirit. For a fan of the licence or a lover of retro action platforming, the title keeps a solid interest, without matching its illustrious elder.
