Railroad Tycoon II brings the cult train strategy to PS1 with real ambition, but pad navigation feels heavy versus the PC version.

Is Railroad Tycoon II still worth playing in 2026?

An adaptation of PopTop's great management game, Railroad Tycoon II puts the player at the head of a railway company, between laying lines, buying locomotives, financial management and stock speculation across historical scenarios. The economic depth, the wealth of challenges and the satisfaction of building an empire stay intact, even on console. The pad adapted interface lacks the suppleness of the PC. An excellent management game to recommend for fans of economic strategy and railway simulation.
